AIR CANVAS WITH REAL TIME HAND DETECTION

Abstract

Abstract- Writing in the air without any external hardware has been one of the most fascinating as well as challenging area for many researchers in recent years with growth of technology and computing power. It can be greatly use to improve the interface between man and a machine and can contribute enormously in automation. We are here now, using the techniques of computer vision in open cv to build this project. The existing technology which allows us to draw just by waving hands does not perform real time hand detection and have very low accuracy. Also, all the air canvas which we have before are very slow in speed. We have tried to build air canvas with real time hand detection of a user along with emojinator. Availability of good quality integrated as well as external camera and improvement in processing power of the computer has given rise to object tracking techniques. To take advantage of this gap and focuses on developing an air canvas as well as an emojinator. This is a reporter of occasional gestures and feelings (through emojis). It will use computer vision to trace the path of the finger or user’s particular action. The air canvas can be used to draw something in the air and the emojinator can be used in speech-to-text systems in order for system to take emojis as input. Also, we have tried to add much more functionality like when index and thumb are sticked together air canvas will not give any output for better control on canvas by user.Index Terms— Computer Vision, Image Processing, Hand Landmark detection.
