Abstract

Abstract— We propose to develop a prototype that uses speech processing hardware and translators to provide realtime translation to the user in this paper, which is still in the early stages of developing a personalised interpreter. Speech processing hardware operates on the 'compare and forward' principle, in which a database is already present in the unit and is compared to the input speech, with the result being forwarded for further processing. The necessity for this derives from the failure of dictionaries and human translators to meet our communication needs. In this case, the proposed prototype will adequate for the purpose while minimising communication inefficiencies
