ABSTRACTThe brakes are one of the most important aspects of a vehicle. The braking system of a vehicle should meet several requirements, safety being the priority. The brakes should work well in all predictable circumstances, meaning, they should maintain a stable level of friction in any condition of the elements. This calls for an efficient brake disc design that considers various aspects such as structure, type of material, strength, maximum temperature, thermal deformation etc. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to optimize the existing design of the brake disc rotor, analyze it for its performance with the help of a brake disc test rig and software analysis using Ansys.Keywords -Braking efficiency, design of brakes ,braking analysis, friction , mechanical properties
