Abstract: An energy audit is aninspection, survey and analysis of energy flows in building, processes orsystem with the objective of understanding the energy dynamics of the systemunder study. Typically an energy audit is conducted to seek opportunities toreduce the amount of energy input into the system without negatively affectingthe outputs when the object of study is an occupied building then reducingenergy consumption while maintaining or improving human comfort, health andsafety are of primary concern. Beyond simply identifying the sources of energyuse. An energy audit seeks to prioritize the energy uses according to thegreatest to least cost effective opportunities for energy savings. The energyaudit report establishes the needs for plant metering and monitoring enablingthe plant manager to institutionalize the practice and hence, save money forthe years to come. The steps and sets the preliminary budget for the energymanagement program.
