Abstract:-This paper deals with the plane strain vibrations in thermoporoelastic platesin the framework of Biot’s theory. Pertinent constitutive relations andgoverning equations are derived. Frequency equation is obtained in the presenceof dissipation. In the particular case the frequency equation is obtained inthe absence of dissipation. Frequency and attenuation is computed as a functionof wavenumber. For illustration purpose, three poroelastic solids namelysandstone and berea sandstone are employed.
